Belgrade Women Facilitate Donation to Historical Society

A substantial collection of Belgrade memorabilia gathered over a lifetime by a 1941 graduate of Belgrade High School has made its way back to Belgrade from Pennsylvania. Thanks to the efforts of Tasha Stevens and Priscilla Spiller, several boxes of a lifetime of collecting by their great aunt, 92-year-old Martha Withers Pink, were recently received by the Belgrade Historical Society. I am not referring to the fictitious yet gripping comic-mystery novel The Dam Committee and its sequel More Dam Trouble by Belgrade's very own Earl H. Smith. Get Out And Enjoy the End of Summer!

Last week was difficult for me because I couldn't get out and really enjoy the lakes. I had some minor surgery on one of my fingers, and my doctor didn't want me to touch fish or lake water for at least nine days afterwards. I did manage to get out and hike some of the local trails, beginning with BRCA's French Mountain Trail off Watson Pond Road in Rome. More . . .
